My kitty is 18 years old and the two of us moved to an apartment in October. Change was hard on my feline friend. She thinks the door to the balcony is the door to our enclosed porch so when I open it and cold Minnesota winds blow in, she runs! I realized that the antique bed which I chose to take for the move has been "Her sleeping/napping" bed for years so now when I say "Stay off my bed" she looks at me like "Say what"??? So once I realized this, I put the channelle bedspread on a rocking chair and gave her claim to the new space. I dislike sharing the bathroom with a cat! Her kitty litter box fits perfect between the toilet and the bathtub; however, ICK! I CAN'T WAIT FOR SUMMER SO WE CAN WALK TO THE LAKE ONE AND A HALF BLOCKS AWAY. SHE CAN SLEEP IN HER BUGGY WHILE I PAINT ON THE PICNIC TABLE!!!! DARI

Hi Shiloh, Colin and I laughed often during your morning musing. We have Sir Fred and Mimi. Sir Fred's also known as, Moo, Moo-Moo, Moozy, Mooze, or Muse because he makes this sweet sound, "Moo" when he moves. He's cat that like to announce when he's doing something. Mimi, I called Cleopatra because of her black eye liner and dramatic eyes. She looks more like Nefertiti. I get the feeling her person is a 1920's flapper girl or silent movie star. She's very playful at 10+ years old and has the most adorable routine that includes playing each morning. Sir Fred likes to make an appearance and be on Zoom calls. Colin and I try to be aware of and sensitive to their world. Colin agrees that cats see us as fitting into their world. When our kitty, Akira died, we said to each other, our home and yard were his whole universe since he was a 9-weeks old. We got him cremated alone and were there every step of the way by a friend who cremates pets and does crossing over ceremonies. We chose an amber Belgian herb jar that looks Egyptian since Akira was a cat of sophistication and acted like a king. He even sat like a sphinx. Sigh, we miss him and his personality. He was a gentle, yielding elder to other kitties. We don't burn incense anymore and have always used environmentally friendly cleaning products to keep their air and space healthy. Our most recent modification for our kitties was switching cat food brands. They now get people-grade Stella & Chewy's instead of Royal Canin and Science Diet. Not only is it people-grade quality, it's actually less expensive than the above brands and the cats eat less of it since it's basic food with no additives. We eat organic and healthy, why can't they. Stella & Chewy's isn't organic, but we haven't found an organic cat food they'll eat. We adopted Mimi from a senior cat shelter. She's 10+ years young and will be 11 sometime this year. She has brought much joy and laughter to our home. She nuzzles in the funniest ways that tickles and makes us laugh. Thanks for this delightful teatime share. Colin and I are both at the canvas today and appreciate yours and Jonathan's recordings. Enjoy!! Love, Anna and Colin

P.S. We're going to start noticing what music they like. This teatime was fun!! Thanks again :)
