I was just thinking the other day,the Flowers don't care who runs the country....while we have to stand for the good, we also must live for the flowers, speak their language. I Was a Flower Child...in thought though I di d't attend tooooo many rallies. And today I find myself reading a book of fiction* that speaks of a female god in our time....and I feel a need to incorporate that in my Quicken painting. Though I am well aware of the Female goddess of history, somehow the idea of a female God here and now hadn't penetrated my Patriarchal indoctrination. I have cracked that open even more now and like she of the novel, rail at the concept of Adam receiving his life giving spirit from a male God....who is it that gives birth to all? * "Ruby" by Mary Summerrain

Beautiful words in hard times- thank you for all you say and do.

i am of that flower generation from whom you are birthed- the flowers of peace, justice and lovingkindness will continue to grow in the gardens of my mind, heart and home for as long as i have breath to know them. Perhaps it is time to start thinking of Victory Gardens again-

in the sense that the true nature of humanity is to love and care for each other, to share our resources equitably and to know the earth and all creatures on it/in it are there as friends and mentors of how to survive the winters of our stuggles.

The roses, oranges and circles are stepping stones of hope…each one aglow as we take a step with the turning seasons and meet again in ceremony…for at least the next 500yrs.

Dearest Shiloh, this is tear-flowing, stunning truth. I was not biologically raised by "hippies," but by people appalled by them. It was at the same summer camp that I first met the red thread where I was adopted by peace & justice hippies and I am beyond grateful to have found them again at this moment in my life. And, yes... I'm teaching the grands! I love you!
