I, too, can appreciate how gazing at the branches against the winter sky is a different feeling than watching the warm summer winds rustle through their leafy branches. Every morning I can see out my window to trees skies and not to distant mountain peaks ; I find this incredibly grounding and one if the best ways to start my day.
I rather like the silhouettes and shapes of winter contrasting with spring or summer. Perhaps thatβs cos I grew up in the mid west of the country where there were four very distinct changing of the seasons. Though I do recall - back then I had less appreciation for how bitter cold mid western winters can be or how then winter seemed to be the longest darkest season for me. My body and I are much better suited to the temperate zones of California yet will always look up to find where the mountains and trees and skies hold a place for me in this wildly chaotic world. Thank you for sharing all the ways we can become tuned in the Now - by simply being mindful and present to all the beauty Mother Nature brings us.πππ
Jan 23rd... Today I notice the first Daffodils are blooming under my TREE FRIENDS, Beasty & Butterball, here in GardenSong. Part of me is so happy to see them and part of me is saying, No, no, no, I am still enjoying resting into DARK MOTHER's arms-womb.... Daffodils whisper that SPRING will be here sooner than I am ready for this year. They are on my desk now in front of me and I keep taking deep sniffs of their CLEAR CLEAN FRAGRANCE and soaking in their LEMONY YELLOW color vibe. I notice that even though there have been some rather startling challenges today, I am peaceful now... and Happy.
